Like almost EVERYTHING you hear from filmmakers, this isn’t about filmmaking- it’s about telling compelling stories. Terry Gilliam has a wicked sense of humor, an incredible eye for the absurd, and an unstoppable spirit. It’s a great interview in the form of a list of ways he’s focused on making amazing films, and delighting himself.
Dropped off 3 rolls of film to be developed while I work at the studio all day today. Forcing myself to go pick it up and get out of the office for a bit.
Excited and nervous about what will come back from the Red Bull Flugtag. I was so excited to go out with my camera and vintage Olympus 300mm lens. But I’ve never really shot with the lens and all my pictures may come out blurry, overexposed, or just plain shitty. Plus, I forced myself into a crappy spot on the dock and I think that first roll has some crap pictures on it; when people moved I got closer and probably started taking some nice shots. Unless they’re blurry.
Also, I’m kind of embarassed with how much I probably shot the stupid skydivers, knowing the pictures probably wouldn’t come out well.
I’m guessing a 12:36 (good pictures, total pictures) ratio. That’s if everything was properly exposed. I like this nervous excitement of developing film. But I won’t miss the expense when I finally get a dSLR.
